It all started in the mountains of Scotland

Humble beginnings

Founded by our very own athlete, ex-World Cup mountain bike rider Stu Thomson, Cut Media began when a career-ending injury meant swapping the bike for a camera, and a new career in filmmaking was born.

The early years of Cut Media were driven by one goal—to collaborate with athletes to place their talents and sports at the heart of creative entertainment and captivate a mainstream audience.

What transpired over the next decade is some of the most successful and iconic sports content the world has seen—notably with long-time collaborator Danny MacAskill—with the pair achieving hundreds of millions of YouTube views.

We’ve evolved a lot since those early days. Based at our studio in Glasgow, our crew is a passionate team of athletes, sports fans, creative thinkers, and problem solvers who put their heart and soul into everything they do.

Caffeine-fuelled and Spotify-driven, our team continually pushes us (and you) to see and do things differently, always moving forward on elevating the audience experience.

We exist to tell sports stories in an inspiring and relatable way. From our very foundations, we’ve always been about collaborating with athletes to bring your brief, our creative, and their performance to life.

Our approach hasn’t changed since the early days. Connecting athletes to their audiences is still what we do best. Having collaborated with some of the biggest names in sports, including Lewis Hamilton, Real Madrid, Valentino Rossi, and Geraint Thomas, we continue to be all about making content that moves you.
